Robotics Club:
For the fifth year in a row, Shouf National College is glad to extend its partnership with The Little Engineer, bringing to our students a life time education, helping them to catch up with the wheel of technology that has been moving faster every day.
Our robotics club continues to grow every year and include more and more of our young talented minds (starting at the age of 5). Having started our own lab, students can now benefit from kits available within the school, to try to develop their innovative ideas and enhance their robotics and teamwork skills using some of the latest technologies.
And for the third consecutive year, beside our full courses presented to those who have shown high interest and commitment to the robotics technology, we’ve allocated 2 periods during the academic year for classes from KG3 to Grade 6, in order to introduce them to the concept of robotics, help them have a closer look at the future, and expose them to new ideas that could pave their way to successful careers.
Genius MAP:
We have extended our partnership with the Genius MAP institution, one of the most advanced programs teaching the Arithmetic Mental Calculations, for the third consecutive year.
In addition to teaching Mental Calculation, our system is boosted with several games that help students develop concentration strategies and cognitive skills. Many of our activities involve developing motor skills, three-dimensional perception and kinetic synergy as well.
Our students have represented us in several regional and national competitions, and they have proven to be some of the best in Lebanon after they have won the first five places in last year’s national competition among several age and level-based groups.
* Kindly note that both activities are offered to all students from the Shouf region, with minimal cost to cover the expenses, as advised by Dr. Akram Himadeh.
Environmental club:
SNC GREENS is the environmental club of the school that empowers students through participating and taking up meaningful environmental activities and projects. It is a forum through which students can reach out to influence, engage their parents and neighborhood communities to promote sound environmental behavior. Members of the environmental club plan sustainable activities and help achieve meaningful change within school communities. This inspires, motivates and gives students opportunities to build up leadership skills and preserve their environment.
Hiking Club:
Hiking, the act of strolling down a path through nature, offers opportunities for exercise, socialization, learning, escape from the noise and busy life, reflection, expansion of thought, and improved mental well-being. The benefits of hiking cover physical, social, familial, cognitive, mental, spiritual, and financial well-being.
Students will know what it feels like to climb a mountain, walk across a refreshing mountain stream and reach a target. In addition, the students will become educated about the wildlife and plant life that are found in our region. The Hiking Club provides opportunities for adventurous experiences.
Cinema Club
We created the cinema club in our establishment ten years ago as part of the development of artistic, cultural and sensory education at school.
The films we screened related to all levels: primary, middle and secondary.
Our goal was to improve the vocabulary of our learners, help them discover new films, reveal new horizons and sharpen their gaze.
The club allowed students to have fun, relax, and escape through other cultures and stories.
All the money raised by our cinema club was used to help distinguished students who could not afford their tuition fees.
We hope to resume our activities soon after the health crisis.
