The Shouf National College, founded in 1957 in Baakleen, is a non-sectarian, non-profit institution, which operates under the direction and supervision of a board of trustees that includes among its members a number of university professors and educators. The college is a model school that provides high-level education to boys and girls from nursery school to grade 12, in both its English and French sections.
The College emphasizes high academic standards as well high ethical principles. It also endeavors to develop the personality of its students and raise their awareness of their social and national obligations. Besides, the College emphasizes extracurricular activities as a means for developing the physical, social, cultural, and moral life of the students.
The establishment of the college and its rapid development into a first class institution was financed entirely by grants from the Lebanese government and philanthropic individuals and institutions, both local and foreign
